Our boys

We have three breeding boys, Pablo, Dandy and Baggy, all of whom are regularly tested for FIV, FELV and Tritrichomonas Foetus and are currently all negative for these pathogens. All of our cats have also tested HCM negative, which means that all kittens are guarenteed to be free of both of the identified genes for HCM carriers.

Our boys enjoy shared quarters with the girls, although all three are kept in separate runs for the purposes of monitoring the breeding process and ensuring that no fights break out. Saying that, they are all such laid back softies, it seems impossible to imagaine that happening in any scenario.

Their pens consist of an inside cabin-type set up for their beds, littler, food and water plus a run that adjoins the girls' main living area, ensuring lots of contact with the ladies. Pressure activated heating pads keep them cosy in winter and they drink fresh Scottish spring water alongside a healthy, balanced diet. Shelves and other climbing furniture and toys provide a great deal of enrichment and entertainment, as do views to the rolling green hills of the organic sheep farm surrounding our property. And, of course, we spend an inordinate amount of time playing and grooming, too.

They have the benefit of Andy's veterinary knowledge, coupled with Lara's full-time care and attention. They are used to noises (like the hoover!) and children and occasionally even have little visits with our two Rottweilers. We work hard to ensure the best possible living conditions, the creation and maintenance of healthy practices and their general well-being and happiness. We keep our cattery at closed stud for their safety and security.

Pablo

Pedigree name Vonvarda Perry

DOB 14 August 2004

Colour Seal mitted

Characteristics Talk about a gentle giant... Pablo is the champion! He's been with us now for over five years and has fathered many a beautiful litter. He is the friendliest, most devoted of companions and (as you can see) quite a looker also, having done well on the show circuit when he joined us here at Ragatage Ragdolls.

He's a star with the ladies and because he is such a gentle, sociable creature, often benefits from prolonged spells of co-habitation with one of the females after a mating has occurred. In fact, this is the case with all three of our lovely boys - a testament to their even temperaments and calm, laid-back demeanours.

Dandy

Pedigree name Reneedior Sir DT Fauntleroy

DOB 9 August 2001

Colour Blue bi-colour

Characteristics There is no denying that Dandy

had a bit of a rough time settling in, having spent four years in a different setting prior to arriving with us in 2005.

But as trust grew, we developed what has turned out to be quite an elaborate grooming routine, very much dictated by Dandy's likes and dislikes (definitely round the neck and head but not really on the tail). This bonding ritual has gone a long way toward bringing Dandy out of his shell and allowing him to show how very loving he can be.

A gentleman with the ladies, he has provided gorgeous kittens during his tenure as Beta male. This very vocal boy keeps everyone informed of his opinions and is definitely partial to a good belly rub. A real gem.

Baggy

Pedigree name Devinity Sun of Ra

DOB 3 February 2008

Colour Seal colour point

Characteristics Baggy is still

very much our baby boy, having arrived with us at the tender age

of five months.

A late bloomer, he took his time getting through kittenhood and definitely still retains the distinct air of being the youngest of the bunch.

Partial to head-butting and canoodling, he is such a loving and friendly addition to our crew - one for which we are constantly grateful.
